Sentenced to Ash covers some more personal topics. As someone who has struggled with mental health since childhood, I will have relapses on old OCD tendencies at the most random of times. This often leads to making day to day things twice as hard. That's a big point I make in the first verse. I also touch on my fight with eczema and the hopelessness of living in the most isolated city in the world. Although the lyrics were written nearly a year ago, they're still more relevant than ever in my life and lyrically this might be the most powerful song on the EP for me personally. By the end of the track, it's about breaking out of those confinements and choosing to soldier on regardless of life's circumstances that have been thrown your way.

lyrics
I never thought that I could go backwards
How the fuck do you still torment me?
Expectations ruined, conquered land and desert plains
Inked my arm yet this sacrifice still brings pain
Bathed in, sunlight
I live a hopeless life
Weakened, bleeding
Nails reek of my own flesh
Decimate the weak and fucking cut off their heads
Prove to motherfuckers I’m guaranteed to be
Fucking dead a waste of space eradication
I have wasted so much time, but I’ve only just begun
Bathed in, sunlight
I live a hopeless life
Weakened, bleeding
Nails reek of my own flesh
RISE
I will build this architecture
Isolation won’t confine me
Sit down you fuck I display what is truly wrong with man
It’s instinctual from our ancestors that we were born to kill
The burning heat from above enslaves and traps our minds
My skin continues to peel I bathe in sunlight

I had an itch for some good abrasive sounding deathcore and this EP delivers. Great sounds from these guys and hopefully a full length is to follow soon. Australia just knows how to do deathcore the best! Christopher Ancarrow

Boy, they came a long way since their debut. Not that Disrepair wasn't any good or so, on the contrary. You'll understand what I mean, if you listen to both. In Extremis is a legit beast in every regard and clearly shows where Bereavement comes from. Awesome uptempo brutality with massive groove and fierce vocals. mourner

One of the best deathcore releases ever, each song is great and unique with an interesting story attached to them. Every track from these guys is impressive and mind blowing. tpalm66
